1° DAY
Arrival at the hotel in the San Giovanni
Rotondo (in the Gargano area). Accommodation,
dinner and overnight stay.
2° DAY
Breakfast at the hotel. Then, visit of the
centre of San Giovanni Rotondo, the shrine
of Padre Pio, and the new Cathedral designed
by the architect Renzo Piano.
In the afternoon visit of Sant’Angelo’s
Church, and the famous forest, which is
at an altitude of 1,055 m.
Dinner and overnight stay.
3° DAY
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Bari,
calling at Castel del Monte, with optional
visit of the spectacular Castle of Federico
II, and at Trani, with its San Nicola Cathedral.
In the afternoon visit of Bari, port and
principal city of the region, to admire
the historical centre and the churches of
San Nicola and San Sabino.
Dinner and overnight stay in the Cisternino
area.
4° DAY
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of the Castellana
caves and of Alberobello and Locorotondo,
with their characteristic “trulli”
houses.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight
stay.
5° DAY
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of Ostuni,
the “White City”, with its Cathedral
and its mediaeval town centre.
In the afternoon trip to Lecce, called “the
Florence of Puglia” and famous for
its fine Baroque architecture.
Dinner and overnight stay.
6° DAY
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for the
Salento area: Otranto, Santa Maria di Leuca,
the most southerly tip of the peninsula.
Dinner and overnight stay.
7° DAY
After breakfast at the hotel, departure
for re-entry.
