TOUR CODE: INC-19 - BASILICATA - TOUR 5 NIGHTS / 6 DAYS

1° DAY Arrival in Venosa, visit the Trinity Abbey, the ruins of the spa, the Cathedral and castle. Accommodation in the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

2° DAY Breakfast in hotel. Visit of Frederick’s castles in Melfi, Lagopesole and Monticchio lakes (two volcanic lakes which lie in the base of a vulcano, extinct for thousands of years). Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon continuation for Tricarico: visit the town centre and wander around the old Arab quarters. Then transfer to Matera; accommodation in hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

3° DAY After breakfast leave for a visit of the famous “Matera’s Stones”, houses built into the rock, of the cathedral and the Rocky Churches Park. Lunch free. In the afternoon departure for Miglionico to visit Malconsiglio Castle and the Mother Church. Then leave for Montescaglioso and visit St. Michael’s Abbey.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

4° DAY Breakfast in hotel and leave for Metaponto. Visit the Archaeological Park and the Palatine Figure. Continuation for Policoro and have lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon visit the National Museum of Sitiride, situated in the old city of Heraclea. Then, departure for Maratea; accommodation in hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

5° DAY Breakfast in hotel and excursion for Pollino’s National Park. Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon visit Rotonda’s historical centre. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

6° DAY Breakfast in hotel, and visit Rivello, its historical centre and St. Anthony’s Monastery. Return to Maratea for lunch. In the afternoon departure for re-entry.
